A 2026 study published in a Tandfonline journal followed university students learning Korean and found a consistent pattern: many start because of K-pop, and as they get older and go deeper into the language, interest in K-pop content itself tends to fade while learning goals shift toward career opportunities and other fields. The same students pointed out that K-pop lyrics don’t fully follow standard grammar, so they work better as a progress check once you understand more complex content than as a primary learning strategy from day one.
Hyundai Mobis, the Hyundai group’s auto parts subsidiary based in Paal-Beringen, has repeatedly recruited Finance Controllers requiring excellent spoken and written Korean alongside excellent English. Recruitment firm Robert Half has listed Treasury and Finance Specialist roles with the same requirement. These openings concentrate in finance and automotive supply chain work, limited in number and tied to a professional background, but genuinely worth planning toward.
In June 2026, Belgium’s Prime Minister and South Korea’s President signed a memorandum of understanding on SME and startup cooperation, with a specific focus on battery materials and energy. That points toward continued Korean company presence in Belgium, particularly in battery, materials and automotive supply chains, and continued demand for people who combine Korean with professional expertise.
Academic paths, such as studying at a Korean university, typically require TOPIK certification. For real workplace use, the CEFR framework we teach to works just as well. South Korea’s government officially published a TOPIK-to-CEFR mapping at the end of 2023, placing TOPIK 3 at B1, TOPIK 4 at B2, TOPIK 5 at C1 and TOPIK 6 at C2. That means when you tell an employer you’re at B2, they can place that directly against the TOPIK scale they already recognise.
Our Korean courses run live online with certified native speakers and follow the CEFR framework. Private lessons let you focus on your own career goals, semi-private classes suit two learners working together, and group courses offer a fixed, scheduled pace. A placement assessment sets your starting level before your first class.
